Start with ‘grip’
Use a heat protectant that also provides hold - like a mousse or a texturising spray. This will help the hair hold its shape better.Hair should be 80% dry
Curls set less well in wet hair. Make sure your hair is 80% dry before you start.Take small sections at a time
The less hair you style at a time, the more defined and durable the curl will be.Keep the curl in shape
When you release the curl from the styler, let it cool in your hand - or roll it up and secure it with a hair clip for a few minutes. This helps the hair to ‘remember’ the shape. Also use the cool button to set the hair with cold air.Finish with a light hairspray
Once all the curls are set, use a flexible hairspray or texture spray to lock in the look without making the hair stiff.Avoid oils or heavy products before styling
